Rhinestones, ruffles and stripes, oh my.

Hello everyone, I hope you are finding happiness in this new year! So this year on my blog, I would like to be a little more "real." I realized I mostly only share the positive aspects of my life. I'm generally a positive, happy (or goofy) person, but I absolutely have my flaws. One of my biggest flaws: I worry too much.

I have really bad anxiety. I like to feel in control of most situations. Wedding planning has been quite a struggle so far. I was stressing about all wedding related things last night. It's so much money, what if it rains, August is so far away, etc. Finally, Jeff just rubbed my back until I fell asleep (I'm such a little kid).

I'm also really indecisive! So I think I might do some wedding polls when I'm feeling torn. All of you girls have such great style and are so creative, so I would like to get your input! What do you think, would you be interested in giving me your opinions?

Random side note: I love sunny, winter days. Today we had huge snow flurries floating around in the sunlight. I felt like we were in a well lit, well shaken snow globe. I like oxymoron weather.

Thanks so much for reading! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Xo.

I have bad anxiety, too. It has gotten better with age (and kids and marriage). Hang in there!

I would love some good wedding polls, I love that kind of stuff.

Speaking of LOVE, how cute is this outfit?! Ruffles, stripes, gray... all of my favorite things rolled into one awesome ensemble :)

Um, I would totally love to give opinions on wedding stuff. Don't be so worried lady! I know that's easier said than done, but it sounds like Jeff has got your back (literally!).

This outfit is so cute by the way. I love the colors! That last photo of you is so pretty!

Oh, you look so freaking pretty, Heather! I'm loving the new bangs, too! N'aww.

I, too, have extreme anxiety. I think have a bit o' the old generalized anxiety disorder, along with dysthymia, which... is super fun! But now I take meds, which really and truly helped a lot. But I understand your pain, I still worry all the time, and as Greg puts it, I am a "giant ball of stress" more often than not. <3 If you ever want to talk about anything, I'm here to listen!

Also... I would LOVE to give opinions and ideas on wedding stuff! I love weddings, and I'd love to be of an help I possibly can! Exciting!!

You really suit that dark pink colour and I love your tights! This whole outfit is really sweet.

I know exactly what you mean! I try to maintain a positive attitude on my blog but I get really bad anxiety too and I worry constantly about really silly things! Thank goodness for kind boyfriends/fiances (and back rubs).

Anxiety sucks :( But at least take comfort in the fact that yours is properly placed. Wedding planning (from what I've heard) can be extremely taxing on the nerves, because it's your big day! You hopefully only get one of them, so you want it to be perfect. Meanwhile, if it will make you laugh, you can think about my horribly misplaced fear and anxiety about falling into a manhole if I step on the cover. Because, you know, that happens all the time.

Just be sure to take some breathers when you feel like things are getting too intense. And YES- I'd be all about participating in wedding poles. Was way happy that you liked the site that I linked you earlier. I have yet to see a concept on their that I didn't love or want.

This is probably my new favorite outfit from you!!! Neutrals? Yes please--- AND Rose :) My new favorite color lately is that rosy pink, and it looks so good on you! And those tights! And that skirt! And the belt! Pardon me while I go into a seizure from cute outfit overload!

Alyssa ...... can you tell I have a lot of energy tonight?

First of all, I love your simple feminine style! I'm so going to have to copy your looks for back to school outfits :P

PS: I get what you mean, I have real bad anxiety problems too, in my first year of university I had a few panic attacks and I thought I was going to die, haha! It's under control now, but I get what you mean. And I can only imagine how stressful it must be to plan your wedding! But equally exciting, right? :P

I can relate to the wedding planning anxiety. I got married last July and what was going to be a small affair ballooned into a full scale Irish wedding complete with every single last one of hubby's cousins from "down the country" totaling 125 guests (not the biggest guest list I've seen but a lot more than the 35 I was planning on). My one piece of advice would be, choose what you like (who cares what your future mother in law and family think) and remember that it really is your day. That means you can do what you like, but you can also decide whether you'll let all the little things get to you or say "stuff it" and enjoy every last second (believe me, it flys by fast!). I worried about the weather but then accepted that I was getting married in Dublin where it rains most days so invested in some umbrellas and had some champagne. Did things go wrong? Sure they did. Did I turn into bridezilla? No. :)

Happy planning - deep breaths, you'll get there :)

i ALWAYS have anxiety!!!!

wedding planning is insane & expensive.
(plus i was planning it in a different state..my poor mother was a trooper.)
in the end..
my wedding day was the best day of my life...
& i realized that you dont need all the fancy things or a huge reception..you just need your groom at the alter.

if you ever have any questions or want to talk let me know..i am here for you!! <3

ok...now to you amazing outfit.
you look BEAUTIFUL!!!
plus, your bangs are perfect...!!!

I love the colors in this outfit! So soft and feminine and so pretty :)

Wedding planning is SO stressful. But just remember that it doesn't have to be perfect. The single best wedding photo I've ever seen was of my friend who got married when it was POURING rain outside. The rain and the lights were just breathtaking.

This outfit is the CUTEST! I really love the simplicity and class of it! Following your blog, darling, and looking forward to being super jealous of your outfits :) And hey, I know I'm just some random girl commenting on your blog, but I have way too much information regarding anxiety because I've lived through it, so if you ever need to talk, I'm around!

Hey Heather, I just wanted to let you know that I'm planning my wedding as well & a few months ago I had the SAME anxieties as you. I really, really wanted an outdoor wedding but I would constantly worry about the weather. The best piece of advice I can give to you is choose a venue with OPTIONS. We were going to have the wedding at a state park, because it was cheap, and we were going to rent a tent for shape & in case of rain. The tent was quoted at about $1000, and we found a venue (a barn!) for $800, which includes the ceremony, reception, everything. We are planning to have the ceremony outside in the gardens & reception inside the barn. If it rains, there is PLENTY of space in the barn to have the ceremony there, no big deal! So I highly recommend something like that! Keep looking, you will find something in your budget!
