A Wedding Project.

I'm stealing ideas from wedding blogs. Here is my project for you all.

I don't really have a "theme" for my wedding, but I want to be all about our love. Our wedding isn't going to be showy and I certainly won't be in some frilly ball gown. Jeff and I are very simple people. We want a fun wedding where everyone we love can come celebrate my and Jeff's love for each other. So I guess my wedding theme is love. A love that has been growing since the day we met and will continue to flourish for years to come. Cheesy alert :)

I'll post the source when I remember where I found this!

I want amazing song lyrics about falling in love, finding love, being in love. They can be a one liner or a whole verse. I will be listening to my favorite songs and reading through lyrics to find the words that describe how I feel when I'm with Jeff. But I also want to get suggestions from you! I want to read lyrics that describe your perception of love, or just suggest a song that has beautiful, lovely lyrics. They will then be printed on pretty paper, framed and displayed next to our wildflower centerpieces.

I would really appreciate any help/ideas on this! Oh and a huge THANK YOU for being so supportive and sweet on my last post. My blogging friends are so amazing and have really taken some stress away. So thank you all so much! :)

I suggest most of the songs by Snow Patrol :D I always listen to them if I'm in a lovey mood!

My fav song by them is Engines because of lyrics like these:

'I know you love me like the silence of the turning earth,
I know you love me like the endless roar of modern life,
I know you love me like the laughter and the kissed back tears,
I know you love me like the past, the now, the coming years.'

My favourite love song is Maps by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs:

'Wait, they don't love you like I love you.'

Hope this helps :) xxx

You should have a screening of Love Actually.

...That is my only idea. I suck. I will mull it over.

my absolute favorite "modern" love song is 1,2,3,4 by the plain white ts

the chorus goes "There's only one thing to do
Three words for you I love you
There's only one way to say
Those three words and that's what I'll do, I love you
I love you"

It seriously makes me cry every. single. time.

"I can see you with me when I'm older
All my lonely nights are finally over
You took the weight of the world off my
shoulders - the world just goes away."

From "When You Kiss Me" by Shania Twain. It was my wedding song :)

This is SUCH a sweet idea. Here are my suggestions (I linked to the lyrics!):

Oh My Love // John Lennon

Make You Feel My Love // Bob Dylan

In My Life // The Beatles

God Only Knows // The Beach Boys

These are just a few of my favorite love songs. (: xo

I like the lyrics to Adam Sandler's "I wanna grow old with you" (so much so that it was one of the readings in our ceremony) because it's all about what real love is and not the fairytale version. :)

"I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you"

Here's one of my favorite lyrics about falling in love:

You give me that look that's like laughing
with liquid in your mouth
like you're choosing between choking
and spitting it all out
like you're trying to fight gravity
on a planet that insists
that love is like falling
and falling is like this

Falling is like this - Ani Difranco

It's so cute and candid.

Pistol - Dustin Kensrue

You're the girl of my dreams
And a pistol it seems, but you shoot me straight and true
Time to lay down my bets,
Oh, I put all my money on you.

This is "our song"
I loved it because in my mind our love makes ordinary days better. :)

Jars of Clay-
These Ordinary Days.

Not much for conversation
I still find need to pray
Sometimes I get tired of walking
Through these ordinary days
If nothing else I get to see you
Even if we never speak
The harm of words though sometimes
We don't quite know
What they really mean

[chorus]
I don't know where
I don't know how
I don't know why
But your love can make
These things better

[verse]
So let me lay down in this field
And stare up at the sky
I hope the days and clouds
Turn into something
As they pass us by
And maybe you could settle
For a skyline faded blue
I hope that you might settle
For this love I have for you

Your love can make
these things better
Your love can make
these things better
Your love can make
these things better

Oh man! My favorite love songs are all kind of abstract and weird buuuut.

"What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me, me

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me"

From "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" by neutral Milk Hotel. Always gets me.

'The First Time (Ever I Saw Your Face)'. It is the best version of this song I have ever heard...

First band that springs to mind for me is John Butler Trio, they have some perfect lyrics. I love..

"you're the greatest star that shines, and even though there's no forever i'm going to love you until the end of time" from Groovin' Slowly

And another song they wrote, Peaches & Cream, is about the singer's love for his daughter and wife but the lyrics in it are beautiful, check it out :)

Ahh I love Love!xx

There is this little known singer called Kyle Riabko. He writes beautiful songs. One of my favorites is called 3 minutes 30 seconds. It talks all about how much he loves her and wants to say everything he can about her but the song isn't long enough for it. :)
