A Day in Detroit.

So after a jam-packed two days, I was expecting a nice relaxing Saturday in my jammies, Jeff had other plans. So after a few ideas bounced around, Jeff suggested we go to Detroit and take pictures.

Detroit is actually a really amazing city. The architecture is so intricate and detailed. I wish I could wave a magic wand and fully restore some of the tattered, worn down buildings to their original states (and fix all of the crime too). We usually only go to Detroit for Red Wings games, so it was rather nice getting out and exploring the city that everyone is so afraid of.

So here is our picture filled day:

THANK YOU all so much for your sweet comments and tweets about my first video blog. I was a nervous mess, but I think my next one should go much more smoothly; i.e. I won't hit a wall or say "um" so much!

Tomorrow I will post what we did last night, which was a lot of fun! And later this week, I'll catch up on outfit posts. Also, we used a fisheye feature for some of the city pictures, Detroit doesn't actually look curvy. Sorry to dissapoint you all!

Oh and if you haven't already, please go read Meg's post on body image. She wrote it all so perfectly and I think everyone should read it. Oh and she's also a truly amazing girl with a truly amazing blog, so check her out over at bow ties are cool. Happy weekending everyone!

Dress (worn as skirt): Meijer
Boots/scarf: Kohls
Tights: Walmart
Cardigan/coat/hat: F21

Love the color of the dress/skirt, and what great photo settings - I lived near Detroit until I was about 9, but I haven't really been there when old enough to enjoy the architecture.

And great hat... thanks again for your fab giveaway, which arrived just in the nick of time for being really sick of my 30 for 30 options. Wore a couple of the items yesterday :)

This outfit is great! The stripes underneath the coat and scarf are a little unexpected and I like that. Digging all your city shots, too.
