Orange you glad...

I didn't wear a cardigan? That's right, no sweater for me today. Yes, it was cold. But I loved this outfit as is and didn't want to cover up the orange shirt under my dress, so I endured a little bit of cool wind, all in the name of blogging. I also realize the shirt looks red, but I can't say "Red you glad..."

This dress was really cheap and I love the shape. I originally tried on the medium, but it was kind of big in the top, so I opted to get the small. The small fits great, but you lose about an inch in length. I have such a strangely porportioned body. Small bust and waist, wide hips and thicker thighs. This makes shopping rather difficult sometimes! Does anyone else have a hard time finding things that fit every aspect of their body? Is it wishful thinking that's it's even possible?

So my week is going much better than my weekend did! Jeff and I had our engagement pictures taken yesterday and I can't wait to see them! We had such a fun time, regardless of the dropping temperature. We had constant red, runny noses so we had to do a lot of cuddly pictures to keep warm! As soon as I get access to our pictures, you bet I will be posting some!

Tonight, Jeff made chicken fried rice (from scratch!) and spiced lamb (PF Changs style) for dinner. I don't think I've mentioned this yet, but he is an amazing cook.

So I'm playing with the layout a little. So bare with me while I work everything out! Hope you are all having a wonderful week! :)

Your sunglasses are adorable! The shirt under the dress looks great! I'm not sure it would look right on me, but you're definitely inspiration enough to try it! (:

I love how you layered under your dress instead of over, even if you were chilly! I always have problems finding stuff that fits, too - I'm short and need petite sizes, but I've got a D-cup chest so I'm always having issues with my ladies. Oh well!

I have the exact same problem- very small on top/ small waist plus larger hips and legs. Also, I'm on the tall side (close to 5'8"), so when I buy smaller dresses and lose length, it can become an issue!

You look so sweet- that dress fits you so perfectly! I know what you mean though, I have a hard time finding clothes that fit all my proportions too. Glad you had such a good time taking the photos- I can't wait to see them. (:

You sound like a very blessed girl to have a fiance that will cook for you! That is wonderful.

That is a really cute dress! If it gets too short, you then have an excuse to put on a pair of tights. I love having the chance to layer up clothes!
For sure I have problems finding clothes to fit right as well, it's a pain. I think if a girl said they didn't, then they would by lying. haha

Strange proportions for the win! Having a size negative chest, average waist, and wider hips makes sizing a complete nightmare, so I know exactly how you feel!! :) It just makes the pieces we buy that fit well mean a lot more to us.

I think it is a common problem. Finding clothes that fit well in all aspects. I think I heard somewhere once that we all need a good tailor. But who can afford that, right? I think you are always adorable. And my brother is a fantastic cook! I am sad that I was not able to enjoy his meal. Maybe next time. :)

That dress with the top underneath looks lovely, you have great style...

Yeah, my top half is about a full size smaller than my bottom half, which means that some dresses and fitted things don't quite fit properly.

This looks great, though! I like the layered sweetheart neckline with the orange/red shirt!

This is so cute. I love the look of wearing a shirt under a strapless dress. Try as I may strapless dresses don't find me in the top EVER so i usually only wear them with things under them.

Oh man, dresses are the hardest! I'm smaller on top than on the bottom, so any snug-fitting shift/a-line dress is either too big on top or too tight on the bottom... sigh.

Love the layered look! And I think the length of that looks good on you, too :)

Stoked to see those photos!

i love your dress it looks so pretty!! and i have the exact same problem with proportions i am smaller on top then the bottom so i can never find tighter dresses that fit both. I also don't have much of a waist so it is so hard to find something which fits my chest and waist. What a pain!!

I love this outfit Heather! It's simple, but you layered so perfectly!

I have a hard time finding clothes sometimes too. I have such a tiny waist, but broad shoulders and (as everyone in my family so lovingly puts it) a bubble butt! Hehe, but I like to think that just makes even more unique. Or, that's what I tell myself when I get bummed when I can't find something that fits right.
