Wishful thinking.

So today I'm pretending it's summer. I'm living in a make believe world where winter is over, spring has come and gone and now it's summer time. Meg's dress just reminds me so much of summer, so I knew instantly that I wanted red accessories and a hat to go with it. (Side note, this hat is my favorite thing ever)! I promise you all, I wasn't even a little cold taking these pictures. It's a beautiful summer day after all. ;)

Sorry for the lack of posting last week. Wedding planning is in full swing and last week I quit my nursing job. It just wasn't a good fit for me and all of my friends and family agreed I shouldn't stay. I did however get the nursing job I've been wanting forever, so I'll be starting that in June. So that's basically last week in a nutshell. Oh and I also spent the weekend with my mom which was much needed and amazing! I'm going to miss her like crazy when I move out. Also, thanks to my momma for taking today's pictures. They are unedited, she did so great!mar29-05mar29-01
Thanks for joining me in my warm, summertime daydream! I hope you have an amazing week and thanks SO much for reading. Seriously, you all brighten my day! <3

Living on front porches.

Hello friends! I hope I'm finding you with a smile on your face. I have to say, I couldn't be more excited about tomorrow being Friday! We can all do a happy dance together in spirit. Tomorrow night, Jeff and I kick off our premarital counseling, which I'm actually looking forward to. I hope we can really learn something from it and walk away from the experience having grown even closer.

This is my first time mixing brown with blue tones. I love how blogging has taught me to constantly try new things. I officially don't care what others think about how I dress anymore. I live in a very unfashionable area so I'm getting used to stares from girls wearing sweatpants and slipper boots. I wear slipper boots at home, but not as actual shoes. Sigh, I don't get it. What's something that annoys you when you see someone wearing it? I want to feel justified in my disliking of the slipper boots as shoes! ;)

Oh and be sure to check out the Wardrobe Wanderlust facebook page to keep up with how we are all styling each others clothes! Anyway, I hope you are all having a heat wave like we are here in Michigan. I'm been loving our 50+ degree weather and sunny days. It's so nice being able to go outside without tons of layers and a big coat. Hello Spring? Is that you? ;) Have a great weekend everyone! xo

Blog, blog, blog.

Hello everyone, happy weekend! Jeff is currently up north for the weekend with his friends, which I was really bummed about until I realized I had the INDIE e-conference to keep me plenty occupied while he's away. I've already learned SO much and I can't wait to start applying changes to my blog. I think the winter had me really drained in the inspiration department, but I'm feeling completely lifted up after reading through these posts, and it's only day two. I can't wait to see what else is in store for us!

In other blogging news, I'll be attending the Michigan blogger meet up. This will be my first time meeting other bloggers and I'm feeling both nervous and excited. I'm pretty shy at first, which can be really deceiving because then I turn into a very chatty, social girl! We will be meeting up for outfit shots and then going off to a fashion show (my first one) and then out for drinks and snacks later. I'll probably be picture crazy so I can document this experience and have pictures to look back to and remember it all! Now I just have to figure out what to wear!

I hope you all have a nice, relaxing weekend and a very Happy Valentine's Day! xo

Snow, snow go away.

So it has been snowing nonstop all morning and it has left me with a case of severe winter blues. Jeff and I had plans to go see the movie Blue Valentine (no pun intended), but the closest theater playing the movie is almost an hour away. The roads are awful so now we are stuck inside wearing pajamas and watching movies. I guess that's not technically horrible, but I am so sick of all of this snow already! And I promise you all, I'm not freezing here. It's actually on the warmer side of winter today.

Jeff and I did have a little date night last night though, so at least we had some fun outside of the house this weekend. We went to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and then walked around Border's for awhile. I've been reading nonstop, my resolution this year was to read more and so far I'm really proud of myself. Last night I bought The Giver (I read this in fifth grade) and The Great Gatsby (I read this in high school) but I wanted to read them both again.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend. And if it's snowing, I hope you can make the best of it by building forts in your living room, baking cookies or snuggling up by the fire drinking hot cocoa with your loved ones. xo

Snow days.

So we got our fair share of snow last night, which I completely love! Well I love it because I got a snow day, and Jeff came over to bring my family lunch and play in the snow with me. Yes, we're basically five year olds. We played with my dog and had a foot race in knee deep snow, it was so fun! I love playing and goofing off with my best friend, it makes for the best days!

As much as I love the beautiful snow, I'm definitely ready for spring and warmer weather! I have so many ideas for spring time posts and I'm just too impatient for waiting! So we need to give winter a kind goodbye and rush it out the door! These pictures are from Sunday, before we got slammed with all of the snow (which was hyped up a bit more than it should have been)! Jeff and I had some major lighting issues, so these are the only decent photos!

I hope you all are staying warm and cozy! Let's just think about spring flowers and warm, fresh air! And February is such a great month, I'm a sucker for Valentine's Day. I'm already sending Jeffery gift ideas, hehe! More importantly though, it's a day dedicated to celebrating love and right now, my life is bursting with love! And of course, I love all of you, so this makes Valentine's Day extra special this year. <3

The perfect weekend.

Hello everyone, I really hope you all had a nice, relaxing weekend! I have to say, this was probably one of the best weekends ever for me! I went dress shopping Saturday which was amazing! Although, I learned I don't look like a 5'10 model in a wedding dress! Some of the dresses I tried on drowned me! But, I'm perfectly okay with being a 5'3 bride! I did find a dress I love (and yes, it was the first one I tried on)! My mom wants to look around a little more, but I think this dress could be the one!

I also got to spend my entire Saturday with my all time favorite people. My maid of honor Rachael, bridesmaid Emily and my mom came with me dress shopping. My friend Emily drove in two hours from out of town and I get to spend the whole day with her! Then of course Jeffery came over Saturday evening and it was just so perfect! Sunday was filled with lots of tickles fights and giggles!

So these are my new favorite shoes. I've been looking everywhere for lace up, heel booties and these have the buckles to boot. Oh gosh, I love puns! When I saw these boots online, I immediately batted my eyelashes and Jeff to get them for me! :) These boots are so comfortable too, although I always walk funny when I wear heels. I feel like I clonk around. Is this normal?

Also, I have my blog shop up and running. I need to add a few more things later this week.  Have a great week everyone! xo

Lilac Lace.

Hello everyone! I finished "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" this week and all I can say is "wow!" That book captured my heart, broke it and then healed it again. It made me reevaluate my entire life and all of my close relationships. I know everyone tries to live by carpe diem, but this book has really taught me to treat the people I love as though we don't have a tomorrow. I often find myself stressing over the little things and holding grudges at times, but now I have this book forever embedded in the back of my mind. Always say "I love you" and don't waste your precious minutes being upset. I put the book away, but it's message will forever live in my heart.

So I must say this swap thing has definitely helped me with blogging lately. This beautiful lace dress is Meg's! I'm such a sucker for anything lace, and this lilac color is just the icing on the cake. I added the bow tie necklace for obvious reasons! :) So this week I lightened my hair a bit and got a trim. I'm so excited about this color, it's something I've been wanting for awhile now. It looks more blonde in real life though, it photographed a bit dark!

So this weekend I will have my blog shop up. I've been going through my closet this week and I'm ready to say goodbye to some of my treasures. Also coming up soon is my FAQ video and some more swap item posts! Oh and a little wedding update, I'm going wedding dress shopping on Saturday! Have a lovely night everyone! xo

Brown and Bronze.

So I'm back with an outfit post finally! I know I said I was going to do a FAQ video, but it will be up next week. I have a really bad cough right now and I kept having coughing spells during the video, not good! On a happy note, I recieved my first package of items for our swap. This top is from Zara and I borrowed it from Amanda. I have never worn anything with a peter pan collar, so this top was definitely something that caught my eye! I paired it with this bronze skirt I got a few weeks ago while thrifting and I love the two colors together.

I think this swap thing is going to be such a fun experience. I adore all of the girls involved and I think this will be a great way for us to bond and get to know each other better! Blogging has been such a great way to "meet" some truly amazing people! I definitely want to do some blog meet ups this year!

Did I mention it's 10 degrees here? Taking pictures involved running outside to snap a few, running back in to sit by the heater, repeat. Jeff was such a trooper, but at least he was all bundled up in a coat! The things we do for our blogs. What has been your craziest blogging photography experience?
