Dear Simply Sunstar Readers,
My name is Kate from the blog Postcards From and today I am taking you lovelies on a trip back in time to 1963, fasten your seat belts, here we go!
When Heather asked me to do a guest post for her I was over the moon, and then to have her suggest that I do a movie inspired post - well, my excitement sky rocketed. It didnt take me long to think about what movie I wanted to channel in my outfit. My family tells me that when I was younger I used to watch "Dirty Dancing" on repeat, so badly that I ruined the VHS tape and ripped it all into shreds by the end of my 'Dirty Dancing' phase. With a love for dance, pretty dresses, and teenage rebellion that Baby posessed so well...this was the perfect movie for me. When I got into this dress, I pictured Baby wearing this outfit on a date with Johnny Castle (that ofcourse, she didnt tell her parents about!) And I quickly found myself getting into character while sneaking out the door with Nathan as my new Patrick Swayze, dancing shoes (I ditched the watermellon) in hand.
"In the 1960s, Frances "Baby" Houseman, a sweet daddy's girl, goes with her family to a resort in upstate New York's Catskill Mountains. Baby has grown up in privileged surroundings and all expect her to go on to college, join the Peace Corps and save the world before marrying a doctor, just like her father. Unexpectedly, Baby becomes infatuated with the camp's dance instructor, Johnny, a man whose background is vastly different from her own...."
Thankyou for coming on this journey with me back in time to my favorite movie. I hope you 'had the time of your life'
